It will be seen that the cord extends down into the coffin, and in case the supposed corpse should have been in a trance, and not dead, when regaining consciousness can grasp the cord and sound an alarm. At the same time fresh air will be admitted to the coffin through the tubes, whereby life may be sustained until help comes. ”
