“The invention is directed to providing an improved automotive vehicle primarily designed for land travel and conforming so far as possible to conventional automobile construction and design, but adapted to function as an airplane with a minimum of additional equipment and mechanical and structural modification. So far as possible the standard or conventional power and control elements of the automobile -construction are adapted for use in propelling and controlling the vehicle in flight, requiring substantially no additional control elements, each part of the automobile control mechanism being adapted to perform multiple services, depending upon whether the vehicle is to be controlled for land travel or in flight.”
