Spill Proof Bong. Patent number: 4241741 Issue date: Dec 30, 1980

“However, there are several problems with the design of the traditional basic bong. The first is the seepage of the bilge in the bottom of the bong barrel up through the stem into the tobacco bowl, thus rendering the tobacco difficult to burn. Another problem resides in the vulnerability of the open-topped bong to spillage when knocked over and the incumbent mess created in the interior of the user’s home.”

Board Game Patent number: 2215352 Issue date: Sep 17, 1940

A suitable title for the game is either “Marijuana” or “Destroy marijuana.”

“Likewise in Figure 2 of the drawings, player D has discarded a “Marijuana” card in his private dump whereupon some other player has in his turn played upon that card a “County sheriff” card, forcing D’s man to retire from the green portion of the circuit to green county jail.”

Baseball apparatus. Patent number: 475432 Issue date: May 24, 189

“The object of the invention is to relieve the right arm. It may be used by all the players, but more especially by the pitcher. It provides an elastic tension on the lower part of the arm. The severe work imposed on the right arm in pitching induces lameness in the commencement of a season and tends to induce permanent deformity, the right arm of some baseball players being found to measure considerably longer than the left.

Toy figure with rump-actuated sound generator. Patent number: 5695381 Issue date: Dec 9, 1997

“In one embodiment the sound generator sequentially produces respective sound elements of a recitation each time the sound switch is actuated. In this way the child can learn prose, poetry or songs from the toy, as well as being entertained.”

“The verisimilitude of this dynamic response also enhances the child’s imaginative play experience.”

Theatrical Device. Patent number: 966996 Issue date: Aug 9, 1910

The primary object of this invention is the production of a spectacular and entertaining effect by creating a disruptive electric discharge between two or more living objects. As one illustration of my said invention, I have selected for the purpose of this specification, the case of two men engaged in a sparring contest. In such a case each boxer wears upon his body and upon his fists a medium for conducting electricity, and these conductors are so connected to a source of electricity that when the fist of one of the individuals is brought/into proximity to . the body, of the other individual there will take place between said first and body luminous electrical discharges. In order to more folly describe my said invention:

In the case illustrated in Fig. 1, the individuals stand upon a mat 13, or other stage covering, of insulating material. Since 85 the conductors worn by the two individuals, form the terminals of a source of high tension electricity, when the boxing gloves of one of the said individuals is brought in proximity to the body of the other individual, a disruptive discharge will take place between the said boxing gloves and the body of the other individual. In a fast sparring contest such luminous discharges take place in rapid succession thereby producing a most 95 spectacular and fascinating effect. Moreover, each of such luminous discharges clearly indicates the exact position of the various blows delivered. The noise made by these disruptive discharges greatly adds to the effect thus produced.

Spectacular Machine. Patent number: 639810 Issue date: Dec 26, 1899

My invention relates to an improvement in spectacular machines wherein a number of configurations are arranged upon a platform in juxtaposition with a series of placards having printed or marked thereupon verses or stanzas of poetry or other matter relevant to said configurations, the said placards having removable covers for obscuring the same from view and wherein suitable mechanism is arranged in conjunction with said configura tions and covers for actuating the same, as hereinafter described.

The third verse or stanza is illustrated by one or more specimens or miniature configurations of fish C, which are provided with mechanism for continuous movement. A dish is arranged in close proximity thereto. The s.aid dish may be given an appearance realistic to the following verse by partially filling the same with blood-colored substance. The placard 3 momentarily exposes the fol lowing:

“Who caught his blood?”

“I,” said the Fish,

“In my little dish, And I caught his blood.”

Subliminal message generator. Patent number: 5270800 Issue date: Dec 14, 1993

This invention is a combination of a subliminal message generator that is 100% user programmable for use with a television receiver. The subliminal message generator periodically displays user specified messages for the normal television signal for specific periods of time and duration. This permits an individual to employ a combination of subliminal and supraliminal therapy while watching television. Additionally, with the use of a modem and floppy disk option a therapist can down load both specialized graphic pictures and three dimensional text with just a phone call, thereby foregoing the necessity of an office visit, especially when availability of an appointment may not be immediate.”

Lung Protector. Patent number: 681806 Issue date: Sep, 3 1901

“The lung-protector herein described is an improvement upon the lung-protectors now in general use when used in the manner and for the purpose for which ordinary lung-protectors are generally employed—that is, to aid in keeping the chest and the back between the shoulders warm in cold weather; but it is designed to perform a much more important function—viz., to serve as a ready and convenient medium by which any liquid medical preparation maybe transmitted continuously to the skin of the wearer while he or she is attending to his or her ordinary duties instead of having the medicated preparation rubbed on twice a day.”

Pants Closure. Patent number: 4575873 Issue date: Mar 18, 1986

All too often the slide fastener elements, incorporated into the fly opening of trousers or similar articles of apparel, gradually open while the trousers are being worn, resulting in an embarrassing situation. This unfortunate event may occur (1) if the fly opening was improperly closed, or (2) subsequent to the inadvertent unlatching of the pants closure by the wearer while the trousers are being worn.

In the past, many pants closures have been suggested to prevent the possibility of slide fastener elements from opening. However, these devices have been unsuccessful in accomplishing this task. As examples, the U.S. patents to Yankers U.S. Pat. No. 3,271,832, Miller U.S. Pat. No. 2,675,599, Glass U.S. Pat. No. 2,688,138 and 25 Perry U.S. Pat. No. 2,591,193, all disclose pants closures wherein the zipper handle of the zipper is connected to trouser-closure elements when the slide fastener elements are in the closed position; thereby attempting to secure together the front flaps of the trousers, and seal 30 the vertical opening there between. However, none of the above-stated references disclose pants closures that would absolutely guarantee that the slide fastener elements of the fly opening would remain securely closed and locked when the trousers are in use. For example, in Perry, it is possible, when the trousers are being worn, that hook portion 92 of tab 88 would disengage eye 94 thereby allowing glide to move in the downward direction resulting in separation of the slide fastener elements. There is no element in Perry that locks the 40 pants closure elements in the closed position. Similarly, Yankers does not disclose a component that would guarantee against hook 37 and pull tab 35 from disengaging loop 23, through inadvertent movement by the trouser wearer, eventually resulting in the opening of the trouser fly.

Therefore, it is important to insure that the slide fastener elements, incorporated into the fly opening thereof, remain in the closed position when the trousers are being worn. Until the applicant’s invention, the state 50 of the art could not provide the trouser wearer absolute assurance that the slide fastener elements would remain closed.

CIRCULATION-STIMULATING MACHINE. Patent number: 3662747 Issue date: May, 16 1972

It is generally recognized that a number of undesirable conditions in the head and neck can be corrected or improved by stimulating circulation in the affected area. Some of the many techniques developed under the general heading of physical therapy have this as a primary objective. Congestion in the nasal and sinus areas, and occasionally around the ear structure, will frequently respond to this form of treatment. The functioning of the brain itself is highly responsive to the slightest interruptions or reductions in circulation, and this becomes particularly acute in cases involving arteriosclerotic conditions. It is common experience of almost everyone that spells of dizziness or other mental misfunctioning can frequently be relieved by lying down with the head somewhat lower than the rest of the body.
